2009 Land & Prosperity Summit: Speakers

Keynote Speakers- Dr. Soji Adelaja, John A. Hannah Distinguished Professor in Land Policy and Director of the Land Policy Institute, will speak on new national report by LPI, "Chasing the Past or Investing in Our Future: Placemaking for Prosperity in the New Economy," which offers Michigan communities strategies to be on the upside of growth.
- Lou Cooperhouse, Director of the Rutgers Food Innovation Center, will speak on "Business Incubation as a Catalyst for Regional Economic Development." Business incubation is a globally recognized tool for regional economic development. Cooperhouse will provide an overview of the Center's strategy and impacts that has resulted in international recognition and over $12 million in operating and capital funding during the past five years.

- Christopher B. Leinberger, Professor and Director of the University of Michigan Graduate Real Estate Program, Developer, and Author ("The Option of Urbanism: Investing in a New American Dream"), will speak on "The Shifting Pendulum: Challenges and Opportunities for a Prosperous Michigan."
- Mark Gerzon, Consultant, Founder and President of the Mediators Foundation, and Author ("Leading through Conflict: How Successful Leaders Transform Differences into Opportunities"), will speak on "Transforming Challenges into Opportunities."
