Mid-Michigan Innovation Club for Entrepreneurs (ICE) First Meeting in October

East Lansing--The Innovation Club for Entrepreneurs (ICE) provides a new forum for young professionals [and others] of the Greater Lansing Area to share and explore ideas in a positive and supportive environment, create or strengthen existing networks for collaboration and find resources to bring ideas to life. The first club meeting takes place on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, from 5:30pm-7:30pm, at the East Lansing Technology Innovation Center (TIC), located at 325 E. Grand River (top floor) just west of Barnes & Noble Bookstore. The kick-off for the club will feature special guest speaker Jeff Smith, Manager of the TIC, who will provide an overview of the TIC and offer a tour of the business incubator facility.

"We have come to view entrepreneurship in more than a business sense," says Dr. Barb Fails, Associate Director for the Land Policy Institute at MSU and host of the club. "Now is the time to foster an entrepreneurial culture to recruit and support our local entrepreneurs."

Future meetings will take place at the TIC on the first Tuesday of each month, with next month's meeting slated for November 3, 2009. No RSVPs are required. Prospective club members should bring business cards and start-up and concept ideas. ICE is a collaborative effort of the Land Policy Institute and YSGLansing. For more information, contact Dr. Barb Fails at (517) 432-3287 or at fails@landpolicy.msu.edu, or visit the ICE fan page on Facebook.

The MSU Land Policy Institute focuses on research and outreach related to land use and strategic growth in the New Economy. The Institute delivers innovative solutions, transitioning knowledge from land use experts to the community.
